I have been a photographer since I was given a Nikon F2 by my father in grade 12. I did my undergraduate degree in photography, and worked as a freelance photographer for orchestras and theatres. Then I decided to travel the world, and left Canada and photography as a career.

In 2017, I returned to professional photography after a decade of working in education. Then my mother’s health declined, having been diagnosed with dementia in 2010, she needed to enter a nursing home. Despite the systems in place in long term care, I felt I needed to be there daily to advocate for her. My career was again on hold.

When she stooped being verbal, I began documenting her. During the pandemic, this work was highlighted in an exhibition called Canada Covid portraits. The response from my work proved to me that documentary photography was the meaningful avenue I needed to pursue. Unfortunately, mom’s decline was quick, and we lost her in 2020- amidst the lock-down. Both her time and her final days are part of the personal projects album on this site.

In 2021 I returned to my alma mater for an MFA in Documentary Media. My project entitled Interconnected was exhibited at the Image Centre Gallery at Toronto Metropolitan University. Meanwhile, I began working with nonprofit organizations who were working with newcomers to Canada, as well as continuing to work with designers, documenting their interior designs.

Ultimately everything I do is documentary, be it family events, community outreach, red carpets events, photographing architecture or making shelter dogs look good. I do have my favourites obviously, and they usually have 4 legs.
